Now from the start I have to admit that I’m not a Facebook guru. In fact, up until yesterday I’d probably be the LAST guy you’d want to listen to about marketing on Facebook.

But then I got an e-mail from John Chow offering a free webinar about Facebook Marketing being presented by Amy Porterfield . If you didn’t know, Amy is a social media specialist and co-authored Facebook Marketing All-In-One for Dummies.

Amy, by-the-way, has a background in marketing with Harley-Davidson and worked with Anthony Robbins two more reasons for me to listen to this Facebook Marketing expert.

All I can say is…WOW!

Amy’s Facebook Marketing Ideas Are Spot On

In a short one-hour webinar Amy related a couple of success marketing case studies and outlined 7 strategies to profit from Facebook Marketing. One of those case studies included a wedding photographer who went from hobby to $100k in a year advertising solely with Facebook. Not bad in my humble opinion.

Amy pointed out the phases a Fan goes through from just a Fan of your business through five other levels to the ultimate level, and the one you want…A Super Fan. You know the super fans; those are the guys painted green and white, wearing shorts and Bozo wigs in minus 20 degree weather.

Her Facebook Marketing Ideas included 4-steps to get your business jump started on Facebook.

1. Build a foundation by developing a Branded Timeline Cover Photo—Amy goes into the proper way to brand yourself using your Timeline Cover Photo. She discusses the restrictions Facebook has placed on Cover Photos (this is Facebook so you don’t want to tick them off). And then goes into the several great ideas about how to get your story across to potential fans.

2. Grow a lucrative fan base—Identifying your WHY and your ideal audience are the next step to building your Facebook business. What do you expect your audience to do? You can’t be all things to all people so concentrate on your perfect Fan.

3. Create massive engagement—You’ve heard it before and you’ll hear it again here…ALWAYS PROVIDE VALUE! Always give your Fans value. Remember they are only one click away from unlike and you’ll probably never see them again. Stay engaged with your Fans. When you send out a post don’t just post and ditch. Hang around and answer the comments. Give your posts MEAT. You should posts should entertain, educate, and empower your Fans.

4. Turn your fans into super fans—This is a process in itself and essentially it’s your sales funnel:

A. Drive traffic to your Facebook page.

B. Get your Fan to Opt-In to your page.

C. Solidify your relationship.

D. Create ongoing engagement.

E.Promote. Promise something outside of Facebook.

F. Sell your program or service.

The Facebook Marketing Ideas webinar concluded with a short tutorial on Facebook custom applications you can build in order to—Educate your Fans, Promote your business, Collect leads, and Sell your product or service.

 

As I mentioned earlier, before this webinar I was OK with Facebook but really not sure how to harness its power to help me build my business. After this short one-hour webinar I was sold on the power of Facebook and ready to learn more about how to successfully build my Facebook business.
