Anyone with a dream can relate to little ideas that turn into big dollars. Americans especially are enamored with people who come essentially out of nowhere and make it big. One of my favorite examples are Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs. These guys changed the world with a big little idea…the desktop computer.

I know it’s hard to believe that it wasn’t so long ago we didn’t have things like laptop computers, iPads, iPhones, etc., etc.

Now I’m not going to rehash the success Wozniak and Jobs had with Apple. A $600 billion company doesn’t need my help.

What I’d like to discuss is what turns ideas into reality.

Look around you. Every restaurant, every franchise, every major or minor business in this country began as one thing. Do you know what it is? an idea…I said AN IDEA!

Somewhere at some time EVERY business, charity, private or public institution…essentially any entity you can think of began as an idea that turned into a dream that turned into reality.

Donny Deutsch in his book The Big Idea talks about how regular people; people like you, had an idea about something that needed to be fixed. But rather than sit around carping, “Someone ought to do something about that.” The DID something about it. The had Big Little Ideas that in many ways, like Wozniak and Jobs, are revolutionizing the world.

But what sets them apart, really? We all have ideas, we all have dreams…heck some of us may even set Goals…now there’s a concept. But what else do successful people have that have helped them turn ideas into reality?

How about dogged, shear determination? The never give up, never say die attitude!

Do you think Fred Smith had it easy when he built FedEx? Oh no! If you know anything of his story he put the idea on paper in college and was told no way would that silly idea work! Not such a silly idea today is it…why…’cause he didn’t quit. When people told him it wouldn’t work he just put his head down and drove on.

I could go on and on about successful business owners and their bulldog determination but what about YOU?

What’s Your Big Little Idea?

If you are a network marketer, an affiliate marketer, or a home-based business owner do you have that kind of determination? Do you have that kind of attitude?

Are you working your Big Little Idea into a multimillion dollar conglomerate? Do you see your business as a small, home-based business or do you see it as an international business with offices worldwide?

I once had someone tell me the difference between success and failure was six inches. Six inches? Yes, the six inches between your ears.

Today my Big Little Idea for you is for you to take your new business, old business, stagnated business…wherever you are in your business and give it some thought. Ask yourself, “Why did I go into business, what were my dreams, my goals, my vision?” Am I where I wanted to be?

If you’re not there yet, so what…you soon can be. Give yourself a checkup from the neck up. Go read a good book about where you’d like to be in your business. Get some training, go join a networking group and get around some positive, motivated folks. If you’re already positive and motivated…spread the wealth! Share your business with someone!

Times are hard for a lot of folks around us. You have some Big Little Ideas that can help them. You have value that needs to be shared. For your self, for your family, for your friends, for your community, and our world in general TURN YOUR BIG LITTLE IDEAS INTO DOLLARS. Build your business and bring hope to a hungry world.
